The huge candle of 45 paisa is because of the state of the indian banking system, the recent ********of bank frauds should be treated and attributed to negative foreign flows impact , double that with the fiscal deficit scenarios, month end oil payments and the import bills , if you were a foreign investor looking to invest in an institution looking at the balance sheets, which seem to be improving but all of a sudden you hear that the banking system added approx 2.5% more bad debts in a day (20k cr added to 8.5lakh cr) how confident would you be in the government ? This is not intended towards any political view, if anything , the present government should be awarded and the PNB staff should be rewarded for refraining from cowardice and owning up. But then again if just one bank has a scam which impacts 35% of its market value, how many more such scams could be possible? Add the government capital infusion of 2.1 lakh cr to it. You see that the country is going down a debt spiral. Well for one I hope this isn't true, but sentimentally.. the markets will definitely account for this.
